I love to sketch out product and merchandising concepts for my designs. I also like to do print and pattern work as well as provide icon sketches for many of my products.
I ideated concept brand development for Target Threshold product for Trend product, Wall Art, Mirrors, and Youth art that gave vision, direction and insight for product type, style and color for hundreds of product and trend runs.
I created a complete collection of Threshold trend product; pillows, rugs, trays and vases, for the Spring 2015 trend run in all Target stores nation-wide. I chose the color palette, curated the merchandise assortment and worked in detail to choose the fabrics, techniques and sizes for each item.
I was inspired to create a line of modern terrarium pieces and garden vases that would bring a fresh appeal to any home. Bringing a glimpse of nature to an interior space is mood-lifting and inspiring, especially in the dead of winter. I loved pairing contrasting materials - sleek succulents, concrete and galvanized metal - to create a contemporary collection that would bring an unexpected delight to the Target guest. These terrariums allow you to mix and match within the modern garden collection or create a "living" wall statement within your home.
I concepted, designed and curated an assortment of six new mirrors for the Spring 2015 Threshold collection for Target. I also developed a patent leaner mirror that is the first of its kind out in the marketplace for its size and price-point. I worked extensively with color, finishes, foils and molds to make each one of these mirrors look as authentic as possible for the Target guest.
I designed and curated the Modern Farmhouse wall decor product for all Target stores in 2014. My vision for the entire 24 foot run of wall art product at Target led to an increased 6 million over the course of one year, making it the highest percentage of change and sales for a decorative home category at Target.
I designed and curated an assortment of functional memo boards, clocks and shelving for the Room Essentials Brand and Back to College at Target.
I work with an NGO located in Nepal and northern India by providing business concepts and ideas through design to help support an internal structure of entrepreneurship with and for the local Nepali people.
I taught English and design to over 1,000 undergraduate students and PhD students in rural and poverty-stricken areas of China. I also studied and learned to speak Mandarin.
